Consequences from Andrew and Fergie’s association with Epstein have finally caught up with them. Andrew was stripped of his titles and evicted from Royal Lodge, where he was living with his ex-wife, Fergie. He was arrested for suspicion of misconduct in public office, and that investigation continues. And though these consequences don’t feel like nearly enough, it’s more than any royal has faced before.

Now the question becomes, what else? The British royal family seems to be trying really hard to distance itself from the Epstein scandal, and part of that involves the King and the major players not associating themselves with Andrew or Fergie again. But what about their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie? Will they be allowed to continue to represent the monarchy? And will they keep the properties they had due to their status as royals?

There has been no suggestion that Beatrice or Eugenie will face any immediate consequences, though ironically, Beatrice’s husband is right now facing the possibility of not inheriting his family’s 18th-century neo-classical Villa Mapelli Mozzi in Lombardy.

According to the Daily Mail, his side of the Mapelli Mozzi clan has no legal claim to the ancestral home, reportedly worth £2.5 million. The villa is also reportedly in ruins and unsellable, and would require a great deal of remodeling to be habitable.

Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s father, Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, is said to be living in a small property in the South of France. He and his son are not close. However, the elder Mapelli Mozzi stayed clear of the drama when asked about his son’s marriage. “I have plenty of opinions, but I am not going to talk about them. It’s not my affair; you should go and talk to my son about it,” he told the Daily Mail.

Allegations that the couple was having some issues have followed Beatrice and Edoardo lately, though Hello! reports that is not the case. “The only thing Bea and Edo are navigating is their busy jobs and looking after their children! They’ve both had recent stints working abroad and, like so many working parents, have [been] balancing work with looking after the kids,” a source said.

“Recent reports that things aren’t good between them are not true at all. Things are great between them and the only distance between them recently has been physical distance because of work!”

The same cannot be said about Beatrice’s relationship with her parents. Ever since her father was arrested, the princess has not been seen with him, and she has also not been seen with her mother since last December. Plus, despite reports from Page Six that Fergie is “effectively homeless,” the former Duchess of York has not moved in with either of her daughters and has reportedly been staying with several different wealthy friends.

“Now that Andrew has lost his royal title, the girls [Eugenie and older sister Beatrice] are the only members of the family who are real royals,” said an insider. “It’s more important than ever for them to be kept as far away from the scandal as possible,” that source told the outlet.
